To: Marissa
Happy Valentines, my love.
To be honest, Valentines has always been something that's terrified me for years now, and even though we might not be in a great spot right now, I still wanted to make this one special. I'm sorry we couldn't be together this time.
I love you a lot, and I want to make sure you know that, so I'm gonna use the rest of this letter to say what I love about you. I love how you've always supported me, it means so much to me that you've never even misgendered me once, and it's honestly really funny that you've even forgotten my dead name. I really do appreciate it so much, I've been struggling with my transition a lot and I don't think I'd have been able to get to where I am without you.
I love the little things—sending each other cute couple videos, playing games or watching a show together, or just being in each other’s company. I love that I'm watching you grow, how much better you're doing with college and living alone, and how you're surrounding yourself with better people. I know we started off rocky, and things have been kind of crazy, but I want you to know that you really have come far.
I know I haven’t been the best girlfriend, but I want you to know that I hold so much love in my heart for you, and I never intend to hurt you. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us. I can't wait for us to live together, and I'm so excited for us to finally have a real chance together.
I love you. xoxo
